You can dial in the grind across 15 settings and program extraction times for for a single and double shot using the touchpad. A magnetic port keeps your tamper at the ready until it’s time to tamp, a PID keeps the temperature stable for brewing, and the steam wand steams or froths according to your preference then automatically purges itself. The Barista Touch has a 15-bar pump and innovative thermocoil heating system that heats up to an optimal brewing temperature in just 3 short seconds from standby and under a minute from powering on. There is an automatic pre-infusion cycle, preset by Breville, to soak the grinds prior to brewing. The extraction volume and temperature, which is held stable by a PID, is programmable across 8 different drinks; or, you can override these settings on the fly to try something new. The BES880XL utilizes a hands-free portafilter holder for easy, no-mess grinding. Choose between a single and double shot filter basket, select that size on the touchpad and the machine will automatically dispense the precise amount of coffee. The Barista Touch houses a sizeable, BPA free 67oz reservoir and comes with a ClaroSwiss charcoal water filter for clean water and great tasting espresso. The BES880XL features an automated steam wand that delivers on demand hot milk steamed to your particular specifications. The commercial-style wand is able to produce both froth and microfoam perfect for pouring latte art. A sensor recognizes when the pitcher is placed on the drip tray and helps regulate the temperature. Afterward, the sensor cues the machine to automatically purge itself. There is also a dedicated, temperature-controlled hot water spout, ideal for americanos, tea and hot cocoa.

The Breville Barista Touch looks sharp in a modern brushed stainless steel finish. The drip tray is removable for easy cleaning when the plastic “empty me” indicator bobs up.
