Profitec MOVE Overview

Profitec's MOVE is a compact and versatile dual boiler espresso machine that improves dramatically on the foundation laid by the Pro 300, modernizing the machine in several key ways. The MOVE features dual PID control of both boilers, now allowing users to customize both their brew temperature as well as their desired steam pressure. Featuring the new OLED display introduced on the Profitec Drive, the MOVE offers robust programming to fully customize your brewing experience.

Features and Performance

Compared to its predecessor the MOVE is equipped with dual boilers for brewing and steaming. Thanks to the dual PID, each can be set within 1 degree increments to your desired temperature and the steam boiler can also be toggled off completely to conserve energy. In addition to the PID, a dual pressure gauge now actively reports pressure within the steam boiler.

The new boiler regulation via PID is far from the only change the MOVE have received. Despite its size, the OLED controller is packed with functionality including an automated backflush program, numerous maintenance reminders, programmable pre-infusion and an auto on/off timer to name a few. Single and double brew cycles are also programmable now, with each of the brew buttons able to store a unique brew profile.

Customization extends beyond simply the digital. The MOVE comes stock with American walnut accenting, but features Profitec's Twist-and-Change portafilter design, allowing the included handle to be swapped out with a variety of handles in various materials and colors. The portafilter itself features a unique modular bottomless design with an included silicone spout assembly that can be inserted or removed to your liking and fits the single, double, and triple shot baskets included with the machine.

The Fast Heat Up is a unique heating cycle that overheats the boiler so that it reaches brew temperatures even faster. With this system the MOVE's boilers can be fully heated in just 9 minutes. After a cooling flush, the super-hot water brings the group head and portafilter to temperature which helps to achieve optimal temperature stability. If desired, fast heat-up can be toggled off in the PID menu.
