Varia VS4 Grinder

The Varia VS4 is an all-purpose 53mm single-dose grinder with a set of stainless steel conical burrs and a variable speed motor that can operate at speeds between 150 and 300 RPM. Its incredibly low retention guarantees that you brew with the freshest coffee possible while the higher RPM reduces fines for greater clarity when grinding for pour-over and other filter coffee methods.

Features & Benefits

Housed in aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, the VS4 is a solid grinder with fully anodized internal surfaces to minimize adhesion for extremely low retention. Retention testing with 10g of medium roast coffee yielded results of just 0.1-0.2g of retention without RDT and even lower results of 0.01-0.03g of retention with RDT. The VS4 includes an RDT sprayer and a single dose bellows to suit your preferred workflow along with a 58mm magnetic dosing cup.

Similar to the VS3 and VS6, the VS4's top burr moves in order to adjust grind size. Burr movement is isolated within an adjustment collar, and the entire top burr assembly can be unlocked and disengaged from the grinder without losing your grind setting. This is incredibly useful for accessing the grinding chamber for cleaning and for removing and swapping the burrs to further customize grinding performance.

Further control over grinding performance is permitted by the VS4's variable grinding speeds which range from 150 to 300 RPM. As a conical grinder, increasing the RPM can reduce fines for greater clarity when brewing with filter methods such as pour over.
